Apply decorative film

You can make your heli look great with some simple hand movements. Apply decorative film instead of a painting! For example the 600 size R22 can be embellished that way. Advantages:

  • inexpensive
  • intermediate colour swap possible
  • easy to remove/exchange
  • model could be painted at a later stage
  • good if you are still undecided about the final painting scheme

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1 Preparation of the tub
Choose a plastic tub so that the decorative sheet can be immersed well. Fill it to a height of approx. 2 cm with water. Add a generous drop of dishwashing detergent.

Step 2 Wetting the decorative film
Peel off the carrier sheet. Wetten now the decorative sheet by dragging it through the prepared liquid. Wipe the sheet lightly with your hand over the tub to remove excess water. The sticky side of the sheet is now much easier to handle and won’t attach itself everywhere.

Step 3 Positioning of the sheet
Now attach and position the sheet to the model. You can move it gently to its optimum position and straighten it.
As soon as the sheet has its optimum position, use a cloth or a Filzrakel to let bubbles escape from underneath the sheet. By this, attach the sheet well to the model.
Use a hot air blower to work into deepenings.

Step 4 Cut along doors
Use the door gap to get a perfect cut for the door section. Best tool is Vario Ord. No. 11/58.

Tipp:
Within the next 24 hours the sheet will automatically straighten even more.
